I have read various articles on how to install your own voice onto a Tom Tom. However the software mentioned for editing the voice files together doesn't seem to work. It is called Viftool....has anyone heard of any other software that would do the same job. Thanks.

What error are you seeing when you say viftool doesn't work?

I just re-downloaded it and installed it from scratch and it's working fine for me.

I downloaded it from HERE.

The instructions on that site do assume you're used to typing in DOS though.

Have you:
1. Unzipped the viftool folder
2. Moved the folder to the root of one of your disk drives (usually c: but you can use another if you have one).
3. Copied one of the voices data file "dataxx.chk" (where xx is a number) into the same folder
4. Opened a DOS window by going to the Start menu, selecting Run and typing "cmd" (no quotes)
5. changed directory to the viftool folder (This might be by typing "cd c:\viftool\" if you have used the c: drive)
6. Once the DOS cursor says "c:\viftool" type in "viftool.exe split dataxx.chk" (where xx is the number of the file name)
7. Hit return and the ogg files should extract.

I did notice that some recent voices have a three digit number after the "data" in the filename which MIGHT upset the viftool program. I only tried it with an old 'Jane' voice which is data05.chk and 'Tim' which is data04.chk.
