Because that's probably not the problem!
TomTom have produced software versions before, where they have confused kilometres and mile per hour in other ways. There's nothing you can do on the unit to correct a software fault. |

| Andy, Can you confirm what version of Navcore is installed to the device please, Switch the device on and go to Status/ Device information I have a feeling from previous posts on this topic its 9,022 which is rather out of date by now, the latest should be 9,058 but if 9,054 is installed it messes up the TomTom Home application and doesn't offer the latest version - Mike |

| How about the software (Navcore) version installed to the device, don't use the ttgo.bif file contents or what Home reports it as, use the device and view the version info on the screen - Mike |

I called Tomtom today and they told me my unit is working correct and pointed me to this web page

Since application version 7 speed cameras alerts are only given when you are driving at least 60% of the allowed speed.
I really cant understand why I want to know I am going at 19 in a 30!!!

You couldn't make it up, could you. What a coincidence it's about the KPH/MPH figure.
In case TT read this 60% of 30 = 18 Not 19, 60% of 40 = 24, 60% of 50 = 30 and 60% of 70 = 42. |

They are talking crap as this isn't the case with a normally working device, perhaps they no longer understand how their own damn software is supposed to work these days.
Click Here to download 9,058 to your PC then use WinRar to extract the files from the download straight to the drive letter associated with your device then try it again. If you need a more detailed description of what to do to install Navcore 9,058 to the device without using Home post back and I will reply with more in depth instructions.
I would still recommend the database from this web site over and above the one supplied by TomTom as its more accurate and far more configurable, what I would like you to try is both databases on the same device at the same time with both of them working correctly. This lets you gain a full understanding in your own mind as to which is better in terms of accuracy and quality etc. If we get the TomTom databse issue fixed on your device then at least we can inform "Abbey" (Bless her little cotton socks) as to whats wrong! - Mike |

I hate to say "I told you so", but I told you so!!!
The fact that none of us drives at less than 19mph in most 30mph zones means that none of us has ever noticed before - maybe their database is more accurate than we think (   ). So some Navcore has been screwed up and displays the 60% speed instead of the actual camera speed (after all, the speed limit corrections are still getting it wrong in MapShare, another example of implementation). I'm going to have to reactivate my TT cameras and drive past the local camera at less than 60% to see what happens - Uhoh, hang on a minute, they haven't got the local camera!

OK. Great idea, warning you well below the speed limit (Not one that I personnally would appreciate though). But from what I understand, they also DISPLAY 60% below the cam limit, and that is unforgivable  |

Here is a thread from a couple of years ago about % figures when the warnings are triggered, I dismissed it back then and still maintain this 60% rule is utter rubbish.

For the short time I used the TomTom cameras on my 750 Live it was showing the correct speeds. I'm not an expert but it sounds to me like this is a mixed up unit.
The main problem I found with the TomTom data was that it wasn't up to the standard I had become accustomed to, so I switched back to using an alternative database provider.
Not that I'm biased or anything though.

Try to be fair to TomTom. In my unit, I get audible warning of approaching speed cameras whatever my speed, even if only 1 mph. It seems that on the latest Navcore TomTom suppress this warning unless you are doing 60% of the speed camera setting (from which you might easily accelerate above the limit before reaching the camera). That actually seems quite a good feature to me
