Yep, my serial number changed too and it was already updated on the site for me. Was a bit concerned that my map updates would screw up, but no, everything was fine. So all in all a painless experience, nice when things like this work out.

I wonder if they've actually given us new units and transfered all the data across. Can't see a reason to change serial numbers?

I sent my dad's one back late but they sent a different one out, I know this because my dad's one had a tiny scratch on it but when it had come back, it had gone. Also this one has a crack where the USB connection is. After arguing with them on the phone because they said I had to take it up with the currier I told them it wasn't the same one then they agreed to take it back. The currier was supposed to pick it up today after waiting all day and taking the day off work he didn't show, I rang Garmin and all they said was "oh sort" and they would send another currier out tomorrow.
