I've recently bought a tt 920t and i'm having problems with the light sensor. when i select the tomtom to turn to night view when dark, it will do this as soon as i return to the driving view. I've tried this in several rooms around noon. I know winter light is supposed to be dimmer but its almost impossible to drive with the night view in the day,Laughing Out Loud.

Does anyone think this is a dud tt?

thanks,

greg

I've never found the auto night view very successful on either the 720 or the 920 I have here.

Simplest solution is to switch manually, it's only two clicks and you can add it to your quickmenu if you wish (although it's still two clicks!).

when I first got my 920 I had the same problem, in the house it did not change to day colours no matter how bright the light was, but after a weeks use in the car it seems to work perfectly.

ok thanks for your advice, i've been thinking that it might have something to do with the level of light that the changeover is detected and the view changes. is there someway or someone who knows how to change this light intensity level etc?

I find my 720 changes to night settings a little early for my liking, but I have it set to just DIM the day colour scheme, so it doesn't matter too much.

There is no user setting to adjust the "trigger" light level.

I know this is a bit late for the thread but have the recent versions of the software disabled the light sensor and auto changeover between day and night colours as I have to go into the menus and do it manually now?

I've got a 920T...

It's as though it's been written out of the application software - I'm running app 8.351 with map 85.2884.

I've tried the various suggestions for making sure it's set on day colours when connecting to Home but that doesn't work. I don't really want to do a reset to factory defaults unless I really have to...

Not unusual, it's a habit of TomTom's to drop features that either are troublesome to them or get in the way.
