I used to have the altimeter from the "third party ad-on's" sticky section on here( http://gps.dg4sfw.de/ ) working on my TT Go730.

I have installed it on to my TT Go630 but it just keeps looping and restarting the TT.
I have tried putting the files in the root of the TT and then on to the SD card but still looping,

Any suggestions ?

Not really, I'm afraid.

Ever since TomTom stopped supporting their own "Software developers' kit" at around the time version 8 software was launched, it has been very hard (if not impossible) for designers to create new add-ons or to keep the old ones working.
Every new software version would tend to break something else, so minor tweaks or complete re-writes of the add-ons would be needed. Without the SDK it was too difficult a task.

If any add-ons still work it is often down to luck, although the guy behind the site you mention ("joghurt") is one of the best at keeping them going!
It might be worth contacting him direct.

There was some talk of a possible "third-party SDK" a year or so ago, but it never surfaced.

I think there is a conflict with TT's latest NavCores and third party applications. Rousillat mentions a "fix" on his website for TripMaster and how to get it and Height working by installing an additional plugin and adapting the .ttn file.

Have a search for TripMaster and follow the links back to the Webazar.org website for more info.

EDIT - Sorry Andy_P, I took so long writing this reply and ended up duplicating some of your comments. Ali.

Darn it. I was just about to install TripMaster on my 940 but have just upgraded to 9.058 so not sure I want to start messing about with it.

IIRC Tripmaster has another little programme that you add to get it to work on the latest Navcores.

I used it all through Europe in June with no problems.

Yes thanks! I had a play and got it working! I have always wanted to GPS track all the roads I travel on but always forgot to switch on the GPS logger so I can use Tripmaster as well.

I take it when I power it on it doesn't autostart in the back ground until I click the icon. But when running the device will log even in the background (as long as I click to start logging?).

Tripmaster is NOT working correctly on Navcore 9! That is a well known problem. The altitude information is delayed about 30 seconds, both on screen and in the log file. F.ex. when you are going up a hill Tripmaster show no change in elevation. Then on the top, when you start going down, Tripmaster show that the elevation starts to INCREASE. So it's pretty useless on Navcore9 Crying or Very sad

After upgrading my 740 to v9.058 all I had to do to get Height to work was change the screen numbers in the height config file and all was well.

flack Very Happy

Now I don't know if any of you knowledgeable people can help me solve my problem with Joghurt's Height program, but I think I installed it correctly. However it only works sporadically. The height shows on initial startup, but shortly after finding a signal it will disappear and only reappear intermittently.
Thanks in advance.....

EDIT: The height display only appears when the signal bar isn't showing a full signal......

I did get Height to work after some fiddling so it is worth persevering. It was some time ago so cannot recall exactly what I did - sorry.

Well I dunno if it'll help anyone, but after a brief flurry of emails between Joghurt & myself it seems that for some reason Height only gave me that problem only when I had my info bar in the vertical position. As soon as I changed it to horizontal..... Problem solved. Simple eh !!
