TomTom Car Kit for iPhone - Volume always resets to quiet

I've got the TomTom Car Kit for iPhone and every time it is powered off (eg every time I turn off the ignition) the car kit volume resets itself to a level that is much too low. I don't use the TomTom Navigation App - instead I use Waze, Skobbler and CamerAlert. Has anyone found a way to solve this?

I logged a call with TomTom support who suggested I delete and re-install TomTom Navigation software on my iPhone which isn't useful as I don't use TomTom software - it was clearly stated in my support request so it just shows how much attention they give to reading the support request

I've just heard back from TomTom support - that's they way it is. Live with it
