You need to host the photos on photo site such as Flickr or your own webspace and then link to them. Alternatively, send them to me and I'll upload them for you and post them in this thread.

The top two are of the array on the dual Ilminster-Taunton carriageway just before Henlade. One device per lane facing forwards. They appear to be a central optical device with sensors either side.

The rest are at a set of traffic lights in Taunton, which positively bristles with them. Between them they face both forwards and backwards and detect pedestrian activity on the crossings.

The grey ones in the last pic are the rear-facing ones, therefore most likely to be ANPRs (as motorcycles can also be detected...).

Am tackling the town council and the local paper next week.

I spoke to Taunton's Traffic Signals Department, who say, yes, the cameras are theirs, and they're either ANPR devices that help them determine journey times on principal routes through the town, or pedestrian movement detectors at traffic lights (depending on the site and orientation). At the traffic lights I mentioned earlier, they also have one CCTV camera which they can use to record incidents if necessary. They categorically state that the ANPRs are not linked to enforcement. So there you have it.
