Thanks MaFt.

1 other change: the disclaimer now doesn't keep reappearing on each start. I only had to answer it once when I first used it.
Cheers and Happy Easter,

I think the list should also show whether the app will get a GPS lock when roaming/data is switched off especially for use abroad.

Co-pilot especially is absolute junk because of the inability to get a GPS lock unless using data via A-GPS.

The iPhone SatNav comparison chart has now been updated! All the apps are up to date as well as the addition of Sygic Aura and Skobbler.

Also added information relating to iOS4 multitasking and fast-app switching.

You should really remove NDrive as it's been banned by Apple and you can't get it anymore.

but if people already own it they may want to see, quickly, how it compares to the other apps. i did nearly remove it but decided to keep it in.

if i remember i might mark that one as hidden on load!

for iGo MyWay I'd add
Pluses-
Extremely smooth motion while navigating (on a 3GS)
Very clear and uncluttered navigation display- there is all the information we need in colors and formats that are very clear and crisp.
Minuses-
Slow to update and add features

I'd also recommend adding Motion GPS Drive as an comparison product.
It's interface is a bit off, but it works pretty good, is updated/upgraded frequently, has local searching, and has some unique features.

Banned by Apple or just withdrawn until a stable version is released for iOS4??

Having recently bought the TomTom for my iphone 3GS (latest firmware) as a potential replacement for my TT 730 or my Garmin I have found a potentialy serious issue.
It seems the TT iphone software or iphone (3gs v4 firmware) must have an initial fix with cellular data or wifi before the gps starts to work. I have also tested the TT with an Ipad and it works fine in airplane mode.

This is one serious problem if used in europe - wifi can be very thin in rural areas, and as soon as roaming is enable a minimum cost of £1 per MB applies as I found to my cost on a recent visit with a few fixes on a train trip. Its also an issue in UK. On a recent trip between Consett and Newcastle airport (very pretty part of UK btw) I had to drive up a hill, park to get a fix then I could navigate. Not exactly what their web site states so I posted a help ticket. Got a response in 2 days only to find it was a mail scan as all it suggested was a few TT urls - at least one for a blackberry - not impressed at all.

So be beware - this may be a TT problem or an iphone 3gs problem but for sure it means it is in no way a replacement for a good pgps, only ok for a quick fix in an area with good data comms. Would have got a refund for sure it it had been possible.

BTW - probably an iphone issue but it also sucks battery life - on a drive from southampton to edinburgh, I started with a 100% battery, left plugged in all the way and still arrived with 75% - couldn't even keep charged fully when plugged in with an official iphone car charger! and boy, does it get warm. My iphone is only 8 months old so battery is not knackered yet.

I would not have posted if TT had come back with a human reply but can anyone confirm it is a TT or an Iphone issue before I waste good money on another iphone satnav app?

Can anyone tell me what 3rd party software is referred to in the table for custom POI and speed camera support in CoPilot?

Sorry if I'm being thick but I've failed to find the answer anywhere on the site.

Great table, incidentally - thank you!

3rd party POIs. i.e. POI files and speed camera files that you can install from other sites (3rd parties) as opposed to the company who make the software (the 1st party)

Thanks MaFt. Yes, i understand what 3rd party POIs are. And I understand what 1st party s/w is. My question was about the comment under CoPilot in the table re custom POIs and pgpsw speed cameras:

"Yes (requires 3rd party software)"

NB It doesn't say 3rd party POIs. Nor does it say 1st party software.

I read it as meaning that custom POIs can be installed by using 3rd party s/w to 'inject' the POIs into the CoPilot app, and was asking what that 3rd-party s/w was. I guess I've misunderstood?
