some people should get a grip on life and stop being so serious when replying, for starters you would not get through the gates without ram raiding them!

And being a Pocket GPS Moderator you should know better.

Mike knows what he's talking about. I was already INSIDE Farnborough, having followed the directions to A Shed given to me at the gate. The wanderlust instructions came when I said Navigate to Home. But the original instructions to get to the post code would have led me all over the airport. Old as I am, I nevertheless do NOT want to end up mixed into the undercarriage or propellers of something which has more right to be there than I. Nearly 50 years ago, I lost a colleague in the RAF to the propellers of a Britannia, so it happens.

I often get deliveries to military bases and the postcodes invariably are for specific roads on the base. I very much wish they were NOT - I'd prefer to be navigated to the main entrance/guardroom for them to tell me where to drive. Some of these places are very high security - one even sent a squaddy in my van to be with me at all times. But many are not and I have on more than one occasion driven blindly around, unaccompanied and unwatched, trying to find the building they give me poor directions for, all the time on roads with actual names on the satnav. Dammit, you'd think we'd have more sense than to publish satnav maps of the insides of military establishments!

The link says it all!

At least we don't have to worry about wild pig attacks....

The OP said the sign was 'No large Vehicles', this Australian road was signed as closed. What happens? Do people just lose their concentration and drive purely to the instructions? Links to the other thread about satnavs distracting drivers. Not so much distraction as reducing attention to the road?

Maybe not in West London, but there's a quite healthy population of wild boars in this easternmost part of Sussex.
