Hi MaFt & all.

Vodafone only offer a repair after 28 days (although I did manage a replacement after 3 months (with some serious discussion) but my next contact with Voda would only offer "a repair". Reading the forum reveals that the repair entails loosing the phone for 3 weeks and it comes back with exactly the same faults, so not worth it. (Voda state, on the forum, they can't replicate the problem)
A change of phone? only if you claim in the 1st 7 days of contract.

it must depend on who you speak to!

a friend of mine had a phone from vodafone (can't remember the model but they did a big advertising spree for it, it has a fancy UI!) after 6 months he was having problems with their sync servers - see, all messages etc were stored on voda servers and after deleting a message the unhelpful software then restored it from the server backup!!! he had 3 replacement handsets that all did the same, even the tech support guy said changing the handset wouldn't fix it as they are all the same but protocol dictated they had to try a replacement. eventually they offered him a totally different handset.
