Hi

I have a problem with my 540. When I turn it on it displays some sort of system setting screen. Things like software type, gprs settings, screen manufacturer etd. It's all in a list in small white text. The most interesting line is that the startup settings is set to power down? I seem to be able to get it working eventually by leavign it alone and/or turning it off and on again.

Any thought on what this is and a possible fix?

PS
The problem seemed to start when I started up the car whilst the TomTom was on the mount connected to the cig lighter.

Thanks

The screen you describe is almost certainly the hidden maintenance screen but why it is appearing and how you resolve it I don't know sadly.

Hopefully someone will be along to point you in the right direction but if not perhaps a call to TT support may be in order?

Shot in the dark here.....

Is it possible the power button is 'sticking' when you turn it on rather than it actually 'popping back' (I don't know a better way to describe it).

It could actually be the power switch sticking, it seems a little loose. I assume that this somehow enters the unit into this maintenance mode.

Holding the power button and not letting go will yield the diagnostic screen for any model. That's why I suggested the possibility of the button sticking in the down position.

That bit's normal, it's just showing the last state it was in before you booted up.

No idea why it should be going to that screen on a normal startup though (other then the one already suggested).
