The RoadTour Team have announced the release of OutDoors, which they bill as the first comprehensive Ordnance Survey app for the Apple iPhone. The maps cover all of the UK, including all of Britain's National Parks and contains data on terrain, cliffs and hazards.
Users can search the app's in-built Ordnance Survey maps for any single location, including a quarter of a million UK place names. They can also search by grid reference.
The maps are stored on the iPhone and therefore not reliant on a mobile phone signal. The user’s location is registered within the map using GPS.
OutDoors Lite is available from £1.79 (1:250k) on the iTunes app store.

Well some of us were running Route Buddy on the iPhone complete with on board OS mapping around six months ago so I don't see this as a first - Mike
