I have been looking for ages for a reasonable satnav that has audio output. I am looking to get a waterproof bike bag so it doesn't need to be an overpriced TomTom Rider or Garmin Zumo. For christmas I was brought an Autocom system and want the audio pumped through that.

Does anyone out there have a gps system which works well and has an audio output?

I'd be really greatful!

If you read THIS thread you will see that it is possible to add a jack socket to the One.
Here is a pic of my modified One XL although that is the original XL and I don't know if there is still room in the latest models. The mount is from RAM and is very stable.
I use a cheap earphone off ebay and it works extremely well.

Hi smartroad, If the SatNav does not have to be bike specific the TT Go730 has a 3.5mm audio out jack fitted as standard. I put my 730 in my TankBag map case, the display is not too clear through the plastic cover but the audio output works well.

TT Go720's have it fitted also. TT Go 730's and 720's are now being replaced by newer models so you should be able to find one at a good price.

I am not sure if Go520's have 3.5mm output (I believe that they are the same as 720's but with Uk maps not European) but mikealder recently did an article where he pointed out that CPC were offering TT Go520's at reduced prices. If this interests you and if they are still available from CPC, please double check that it has the output you require before buying.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

EDIT. Just remembered that my old Garmin Nuvi 760 had an 3.5mm audio output also.

Doesn't the 720 have a microdrive rather than solid state? If so, perhaps not as durable on a bike?

The only TomTom devices to employ a spinning hard drive were the Go-700 and Go-910 all others employ either an SD card or built in Flash (Solid State) memory - Mike
