Any update on whether this does natively support the speed camera database from here?

No Nav app can support our database because of the restrictions on installing data files.

Unless a nav app buys our database and offers it directly there is no possibility as things stand of any app allowing the installation of third party data unless JailBroken.

Actually that might be true, but you have it down as unsupported for the wrong reasons.

On a jailbroken device, the tomtom folder structure is accessible through SSH, and it virtually identical to the PNDs.

I have added the pocketgps files, as well as loads of other POI files, and they work a treat for "navigate to POI".

The cameras are pointless though because Tomtom have decided not to include the "Warn when near" option. However I can Navigate to nearest 30mph speed cameras if I want!!

Similarly it doesn't support custom schemes.

I'm very confident that when Tomtom update the app, and decide to include the warn when near feature, the pocketgps cameras will work perfectly Smile

Laughing Out Loud very fair point - I stopped reading before that last sentence obviously!

I'll leave my post there for clarity, but I guess methods/guides on installing the data are available elsewhere anyway.

BTW MaFt, are you the camera coordinator - if so, thanks for my lifetime subscription which I finally achieved a couple of weeks back.

no problems vibeone! thanks for submitting cameras!

i've been playing with the required kml format this afternoon and unfortunately it doesn't work on the iphone... even with the required folder added and the file in place the app simply lacks the 'favourites import' option in the settings.

i've emailed ndrive about it to see if they can add it to the next update - seeing as copilot seem to have blocked use of 3rd party data and we're still waiting for igo's update that will fix the speed cam import then it could only be a good thing for users AND ndrive themselves to offer an app that 1) works with PGPSW database and 2) uses our heading data!

i'll see if we get any reply from them.

MaFt - I'm currently reviewing nDrive for another website at the moment. I'll put this to my contact as well.

Basically we want to know if we can put KML files somewhere in the software directory WITHOUT jailbreaking.

Is that correct?

it can't - it's been left out of the iphone version but is available in the winmob and symbian versions. they're going to mention adding 'jailbroken' support for a future update but needs passing to a different department

in all it's a pretty decent app. there are a few bugs (choppy sound when you have ipod playing etc) but as a whole it's useable and the maps are nice and clear.

I find it very similar to the tomtom app. More so than any of the other brands.

Its like TomTom+ - more features, useful features, but very tomtomy at heart!

Can't wait for the review and the updated comparison chart.

Thanks for adding NDrive to the comparison chart. Can you please confirm it has speed cameras? Itunes says it is coming later. Also, has anybody got traffic to work? Itunes reviews say it gives an error.
