pocketgpsworld.comNDrive's iPhone App for UK and Ireland is now available in the Appstore.

Priced at £34.99, NDrive has a simple intuitive interface with turn-by-turn guidance using spoken instructions and map data provided by TeleAtlas.

In addition to UK and Ireland, NDrive is now available for Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Colombia, Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Poland/Czech Republic/Slovakia, Hungary/Austria/Croatia and Hong Kong/Macau. Map data providers and prices vary by region.

NDrive's feature list includes auto, pedestrian and adventure routing modes, advanced graphivs with 6-10 frame per second display, fast routing algorithm's, 3D buildings and an interface optimised for the iPhone with rotate and gesture support.

Adventure routing mode is a first on a nav product. NDrive explain it as an option for off-road, air or sea use which sounds interesting. You can also share location information with other users and call, SMS or visit the the web-sites of POIs from within the app.

We will be adding NDrive to our iPhone Navigation Comparison Chart in due course.

For more information see full details in the Appstore here or at Ndrive's web-site.

Just downloaded the PL, SK, CZ version. First impressions, very fast, seems to carry a good range of options, got some for of live traffic, option is there, but for me probably need to mess around with it. Looks nice, I have time it takes, distance , time of arrival, speed, first impressions very good. I will take it for a trip:-)

Really good, just taken it for a spin around rural Poland. Super fast to get a fix, fast to get a route, very fast re-routing. Pleasant looking with the right info, not to fussy. Seems quick to re plan or block parts of a route.

The 3 speed cameras in my area, no nothing, which is the same as the Navigon to be fair. Compared to the Navigon iPhone, much quicker, certainly better routing. I paid £24.99 for this, although only 3 countries I feel its good value. I would use this over the Navigon, its not trying to be anything it isn't, it looks like its been made for iPhone rather than a water down version of something else. It beat the TT720 on re routing time by the way.

"Safety radar can be imported from KML open formats by the user"

This from their iPhone specific page. Sounds interesting if it is true.

I know its true of their PNDs, I'd be surprised if true of the iPhone though given the platforms restrictions.

I have NDrive iPhone here so will if possible check.

i think i'll have to add a kml format to the database download options then...!

from memory i think kml is just a specific xml format. i'll look into it; i can;t see it being a problem to produce the files.

We have the .kml spec document for NDrive, it definitely applies to their PNDs so if we can add it, all the better.

I suspect it's going to be JailBroken iPhones though for this to work.

I think the Ndrive is just another version of IGO, kind of a clone

i'm not sure about the igo thing. it certainly doesn't "feel" like igo. there are a few similarities with igo 2006 but the menu's / settings etc don't seem like it.

having said that, igo DOES use kml format for speed cameras so maybe it's worth a shot with our igo speed cam format...

i'll hook it up to the pc later and have a look at the file structure.

Any update on whether this does natively support the speed camera database from here using kml format?

Also how good is the app in comparison to the alternative options? I currently have TT WE.

No Nav app can support our database because of the restrictions on installing data files.

Unless a nav app buys our database and offers it directly there is no possibility as things stand of any app allowing the installation of third party data unless JailBroken.

Or the nav app could log into your server with my credentials and download. Needs co-operation though.

I thought the kdl import may work in the same way that the Video Safe app allows you to ftp into the iPhone in order to upload files to it. Shame if they have not implemented this.
