Hi
What maps can be used on the Looket G8. The unit works fine but I am concerned that I need to be able to update the maps and the Looket site does not appear to have any updates.
Any suggestions would be great thanks. |

| You may have to speak to Sygic direct to see if they have any up to date maps available for the version supplied on your Looket. AFAIK the map format changes slightly between some of the version changes so also give them as much info on the version you are running as possible. |

Spoke with Sygic and they cannot give me any timescales when any update maps will be available so I may have to look at alternatives as a Sat Nav that does not have updated information can get a bit annoying. I do have TT on my IPAQ PDA so I might have to get the latest TT maps for that altough with the separate GPS unit it is more cumbersom. |

I've just checked on the Looket site and the last update they released was the Apr 08 maps. These are not too far behind the latest released by Sygic for McGuider either (July 08 I believe). I know there are currently no plans to release updated maps for McGuider unless enough people contact support to report mapping issues in the current release.
Have you contacted Looket/SysOnChip direct about map updates? They may be able to get a more up to date version from Sygic for you. |
