Hi folks,

I know this was mentioned in the midst of another thread, but I'm having trouble finding it.

Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth system for in-car use? I want to connect the Bluetooth system to my car stereo's line in.

(I've just tried upgrading to the Griffin Tuneflex Aux Smartclick - basically an in-car dock that sprouts off the cigarette lighter socket - but for some reason the audio is full of interference, despite using a direct line-on the car stereo. I have the older Griffin Tuneflex, which gives a compatibility error message, but curiously suffers from very little interference.)

TIA

To stop the interference on your cabled setup consider fitting a Ground Loop Issolator such as This in between the iPhone and the Aux input of your stereo.
For a Bluetooth solution IF your car stereo employs the ISO connectors on the rear of the deck then you won't go far wrong with the iO-Play device which I covered in This Thread - Mike

Curiously the interference is about 50% from the iPhone itself i.e. if I put it in airplane mode about half of the interference goes. Why this doesn't manifest with the old Griffin Tuneflex I'm not sure.

Because the output volume from the new dock is also lower, it means I have to turn the car stereo up higher, which in turn amplifies the noise from the car's electrical system. The ground loop would help with that *but* not enough I suspect. Good idea though.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll go have a look see (I have a bespoke Ford Focus stereo, so not sure on the ISO connector).

You'll need an adapter like I did in my crappy Fusion.

Did you fit this unit in the Fusion? Looks like I need to get a couple of "keys" to extract the stereo first.

Had it "professional" installed by a mobile fitter local to where I work.

The fitter has left a few scratches on the fascia, and the controller doesn't work.

Fitter is checking his schedule as to when he come back and repair it...
