Entering addresses in TTN3

This is a minor problem I do not remember happening with TTN2 which I had installed on a basic Dell Axim X5.
I now have TTN3 installed on a Performance Dell Axim X5 which has a faster processor and double the memory of the basic version, yet when I am tapping in the letters for an address, with some letters (not all) the rotating 'clock' cursor appears and there is a delay of a second or so before the selected letter appears in the appropriate window. Is this normal in TTN3 ?? My map (Great Britain) is installed on the SD card ( a Panasonic - supposed to be fast).
I wondered whether there is some configuration which needs tweeking to speed-up the "typing" process ?

The Panasonic card should be fine. The problem may be that the map files on the storage card are badly fragmented.

Defragmenting the card (either by putting it in a card reader and using a PC defragmentation program, or by using defragmentation software on the Pocket PC, such as StorageTools or Anton Tomov's Pocket Mechanic) could help a great deal if that's the case.

I'll try defragmenting - though I am surprised that it should be needed when everything -PDA,SD card and first installation of TTN3-is supposedly brand new.
