Having compiled the .upi files exactly as per djbenson instructions with
pocketgps_eur_pmobile.txt
pocketgps_eur_pmobile.bmp
pocketgps_eur_sc.txt
pocketgps_eur_sc.bmp
in the /in directory, I produce
pocketgps_eur_pmobile.upi
pocketgps_eur_sc.upi
in the /out file
Transferred to all relevant map directories.
For a sample route in France, I get greyed out (?) icons for a Truvelo at 4.002E 49.254E and beneath it a speed camera icon at the same location?
All other cameras on the route are greyed out (?).
I have also set the POI to be 'Warn of POI on the route only' but htis does not appear to work correctly. Cameras not on the route are also showing. |

Joe,
Edit the script file as I described earlier.
Code: | for %%i in (.\in\pocketgps_*.txt) do echo - Converting %%~ni.txt to %%~ni.upi & convert.exe .\in\%%~ni.txt %%~ni.bmp .\out\%%~ni.upi |
This will remove the path to the graphic in the UPI file. Having spoken to a member of Sygic dev team, they have confirmed to me that the bmp does not get embedded into the UPI file itself and it is just the reference to it in the res\icons directory. They are at a loss to explain why it appears to work differently for djbenson.
Once you have converted the txt file into a UPI, copy this into the map directory and then copy the bmp files into the res\icons directory. A word of warning though - if the bmp are not 8bit (or 32 bit) then they will not show on the map. The default format for many graphics applications is 24bit so it is common to have to convert them.
The map will always show nearby cameras but you will not get the audiable warning that you are approaching a camera if it is not on the road you are on. |
