Just a queston on the Ash10 program settings, I would like to have just a bong on the second warning and not to be shouted at again after the first warning, if I set it 10 seconds for second warning will I just get the bong,??

Then you'll only get voice alerts i'm afraid unless you donate and use the option to seperate the Approach and Overspeed alerts.

See this page

Quote:
Also for Garmin devices, the *Separate out Approach and Overspeed warnings can be used to create separate POI categories for Approach and Overspeed warnings. This means that where a device supports them, you can have a voice Approach warning and a simple chime Overspeed warning (or even a different message). Note that this option doubles the number of POI categories used, up to a maximum of fifty-eight(!) Some Garmin StreetPilot devices have a limit of around eight-five POI categories, so this is something to bear in mind if you use lots of other POIs.

Even then, you can't control the number of bongs you get, that's down to Garmin...

If your using the full ash program then you can have whatever you want as the overspeed sound you just have to create soundfiles with the name overspeed in it ie PocketGPS_UK_Gatso_Fifty_Overspeed. to match the GPX files

Mine is "slow down" for everyone . Brilliant

mine sound if I am just under the speed limit and of course if I am going too fast . If I am about 4mph under the limit no overspeed warning.

I did try to email them but got a rejection on the email for you !

Hi! I notice on this thread that you have successfully added voice files on a Garmin to replace the bongs. I've tried every which way and can't get my voice files to play instead of the bongs - and wondered if you could help ... I've a new Garmin 265WT.

I've paid for and downloaded Ash10's Camera Manager utility - and Garmin POI Loader.

I've created .wav sound files and placed them in the same directory on my PC where Garmin downloads the PGPSW database. I have named the .wav files the same as the .gpx files.

This uploads successfully to an SD memory card on my Garmin.

The cameras show up - but all I get is the bongs!

I have tried adding a new set of .wav files directly into the poi folder on the SD card where the PGPSW database is located - no change.

Thoughts very much appreciated - thx!

spajohn - you'll find some questions / answers in this thread This is one of the reasons we discourage asking the same question in multiple threads, you end up with multiple questions and answers. Best to keep it all in one place. Please post any answers in the other thread.
