Just tried what? Confused

If you were expecting a new map, the original post saying TT had confirmed they would be out on "next Wednesday, Friday 11th February" was obviously a little premature.... (as well as confusing! Laughing )

Just read what Typhoon had written and as I had nothing better to do I thought I would connect up my 520 and see what it offered, I was not expecting a map update anyway as you could see from my previous posts about Nothing till March. But it did give me the latest Mapshare updates!!, was this what happened to Typhoon?

Hi I hadn't subscribe to MapShare when I first connected up to TT Home last night. As soon as I logged in it did and auto update check and came back with a message saying there was a new map update. I originally subscribed to the 4 updates a year a few months back.

So I selected the update and all went well until it tried to install it when it fell over!!

My map is currently at 815.2024 and today when I connected it said my map was up to date!!

I only subscribed to MapShare after the failed update.

Hope that makes things a bit clearer Very Happy

In this forum we have people all over europe who use the camera database it's a bit like (mapshare ) !!!!! anyway what i mean is , when there is a move of camera etc in the next database the error has been recified ( this is because they are dedicated to there work) but let see if all the people in europe who have sent in map share corrections that in the next map version the corrections will be corrected . i bet about 5 out of 100 have been altered. Tomtom customer sevices sucks and in a time of credit crunch tomtom should be hang there head in shame for not even trying to add even a small part of the mapshare alteractions .if tomtom worked for pocketgps we would never get a up to date camera database .

Hoe do you go about saving your favourites, when it comes to map upgrade time please?

Have a read here:-

* Note: This assumes that you have made an explorer backup that you can restore from!

I've just plugged my GO 500 into the PC to download the latest Speed Camera DB and TT Home told me there was a map update available.

So I downloaded it but the installation was aborted as it detected a file that shouldn't have been there.

Don't know whether this was a file left in by the map developers by mistake or whether I have a file from the last update which is now causing the latest update to fall over.

An auto generated report has been despatched to TT.

So now waitng to see what happens next time I connect to TT Home.

Was the file extension .png?

If you change them to POIs instead, they'll be transferred to the new map during the installation, same as all other POIs, including the pocketgpsworld.com speed cameras.

How to convert favourites to POIs in 3 easy steps - author Andy_P

Whenever I have downloaded a new map, my POIs remain OK but I have to reinstall all the voice warnings for Pocket GPSW speed cameras. Doing this via Home is OK and reasonably quick but, seeing as Home does not now recognise my device as being compatible (after the latest OS "update") it can be laborious.

Well, thanks for raining on my parade - I was sure somebody would believe it. You've destroyed my faith in human nature, shame on you all! Evil or Very Mad Serve you all right if it gets me a dark suit moment tomorrow.
