I personally dont think the programmers at tomtom are capable of fixing this problem and the Watchdog route is the only way we can get some closure on this issue...

I'm getting this problem with just TTS Kate voice and Pocket GPS World speedcam POIs enabled.

Much better if I use Jane - but what's the point of having paid for new map updates when I can no longer use the functionality which TomTom push in all their advertising?

Ticket number 081124-003264

Had this problem ever since the navcore update and have had to use the workaround on here ever since.

Don't know what all the fuss is about.

Does the OP belong to a trade union.

Perhaps we should all go on strike and hold Gordon Brown to ransome. Rolling Eyes

The fuss is about the fact that all of paid for a unit with TTS. If we have to disable TTS to make the unit work that is like buying a car with a stereo that will play mp3s, but if you do the engine will misfire. So, to stop the misfire you have to listen to the radio instead. Would you accept listening to the radio and not being able to utilise an advertised feature that you have paid for? Somehow I doubt it.

No, I do not belong to a trade union - I just don't like companies that take your money then take the pith.

Seeing as the map lag happens without TTS being enabled I still have a problem if I revert to standard voices.

I don't seem to have the stttuuuutttttiinngggggg problems, I have other problems with mine (the helpme does not work as it should, TT couldn't offer a fix for that either), but still I support your intended action. Its time companies like TT took responsibility for their products. I would love to see them brought to book.

Good luck

For anyone who doesn't suffer from the dreaded stutter or wants a laugh listen to This

Not the worse stutter ever, but imagine 4 hours of this on a long drive!

I will try and get a video of the map lag over the weekend.

Thanks Andy, that's the first time I've heard the stutter and it's B***** awful. Rather than a stutter I would describe it as breaking up, like when a mobile phone is in a very poor signal area.[/img]

My ticket number is 081129-000702

Was able to improve with app 8.320 but NOT a complete fix and as mentioned before this is not an official home download.

I make that 28 so far plus one that has been emailed to me from an anonymous user.

Going well for 2 and a half days - keep logging those calls and posting your ticket numbers.

Basically I bought a 720 w/ Euro maps, and 8.3 "upgraded" it to an XL!

As well as stuttering voice (so no street names), I've lost verbal commands over FM (option removed!), music over FM (no instructions played just silence), no handsfree (incoming calls crash all sound - phone call and subsequent verbal instructions until next power on/off).

And night time display switch doesn't function.

Above all occurred with 7.25 maps as well 8.15 maps. Additionally with 8.15 maps display is so slow that during stuttering display flashes to blank.

Darned unit needs more hand holding and pampering to keep it working than the prior navigation system did (misses with a map book)!!! It's downright dangerous.

(1st TomTom but I know enough about software, digital mapping and in partic. TeleAtlas, to know that this is a not-yet-ready-for-prime-time build issue. Not hardware or the maps. E.g. I used same maps in car in US and UK since 1997.)

The "fuss" is about a piece of kit not doing what it was advertised to do, and a company not taking responsibility for it.
