Speed Cameras, GPS, SatNavsMac users have been awaiting the frequently delayed release of the ANT Agent for Mac for some months now. With zero fanfare it has just been launched as we discovered this morning!

Garmin ANT Agent allows you to transfer fitness data from compatible Garmin ANT devices to and from your computer and detects any paired Garmin devices in range. It automatically downloads fitness data to your computer and transfers the data to Garmin Connect™.

Owners of Edge and ForeRunner devices will now be able to download data from their units in Mac rather than having to run a virtual Windows OS or use a Windows PC. The download link (12mb) is here.

It is now possible to upload data from a Forerunner 405 Very Happy but I have not been able to get the Garmin Training Center (Mac version 2.16) to recognise the presence of the ANT. I presume that an update is required.

Mine failed when authorising with Garmin Connect Confused Won't now re-sync until I grab another new log file I guess.

My first attempt also failed at the authorisation stage but I used up 1 calorie getting another data set Very Happy and now all is well. It really is good being able to send data to Garmin Connect using my MacBook.
