I've noticed an immediate improvement in HD Traffic - it's still far from perfect; it's been reporting phantom roadworks in Leeds for a week now, and isn't picking up on a set of roadwork traffic lights outside Otley which is causing 5 minute delays every morning and evening.

I found it reporting slow traffic on my commute home last night for the first time ever (caused by a broken down bus on a long uphill).

They've also changed the spoken dialogues, instead of saying "no faster route available", it's now a more reassuring "you are still on the fastest route".

It will be interesting to see if they've addressed the problem of re-routing due to traffic, but not putting you back on your original route if the traffic clears.

Good news is google seems a lot faster and the search results appear more accurate Smile

It still finds "Buckingham Palace" if you ask it to search for "Brothels" in central London though! Laughing

(and no... I wasn't really looking for one. I foolishly asked a mate for something to search for when I was showing him the Google search! Stop it! )

They also appear to have tweaked the volume.
I now have to have my 540 set at 70% to achieve the same volume that 50% was before the update.

Just turn off the tips! It's towards the end of the many pages in the settings opton.

Welcome to the forum by the way Welcome

Even when turning the tips off this frustratingly still remained Sad. Thankyou for the welcome!

Turning off tips didn't remove that stupid reminder in the first release. I too hope it is fixed.

Glad I wasn't the only one that found this frustrating.

They have. Just tested it and it now immediately plays the "retrieving traffic information, one moment please" message then reads the info aloud. The tip is not displayed. Now they just need to fix the two other tip messages MrT mentioned.

Also, I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think it's reading out the information at a slightly slower pace which helps enhance the clarity.

I'm popping out now so I'll give it a test!

Thankfully 100% still seems to be as loud. They better not reduce the maximum volume, even at 100% it's sometimes not clear in my car Sad

Edit: Love the new anti-theft image on shutdown Laughing

Just to confirm to those who were wondering, if you have a 540 LIVE, and you press the voice button, the 'read traffic information' voice command no longer brings up the must-click tip. Happy day.

Yep, I confirmed that too today.

I did discover a slight bug that has been introduced.
The "minimise delays" voice command is now linked to "read aloud traffic report".

Same here, you say "minimising delays", it says "minimising delays, is this OK", you say "yes", then it says " retrieving traf. (sentence is cut off) M25 delay J22....". It does not recalculate the route.

If you try it whilst it is downloading traffic it says "traffic not activated" even though you can see the traffic data.

I've got a 940 and I play music from the device through the car stereo using the FM transmitter, since this update every time the sat nav is about to give an instruction the music does a little stutter - it's most annoying - has anyone else had this problem - any solutions?

Chrs.

It repeates the last 200 miliseconds of the music before it announces the next navigation instruction - annoying that it is this is a known issue but it would do the case any harm for you to report it to to TomTom - the more people shout about it the faster they might fix it - 0845 161 0009 - Mike
