I have just bought a Go 940 live having upgraded from a nuvi 670 and have down loaded all the great icons and voices on this site and installed them without problems, thanks very much to everyone who supplied them.

What I was wondering is it possible to get a full screen warning of a speedcam on my tomtom, which will cut out the map view and then return to the map view and if I can is it available from this site?

thanks

If the bells whistles and gongs are not enough, I'm certain that someone could devise a spike in the driver's seat that could........ Very Happy Wink Stop!

The other well tried system is to go through the speed camera as fast as possible which then gives a bright flash to alert you. Works for me Evil or Very Mad

Gee-Pee......

Since the device code is specific to a particular unit (yours!), I suggest you block that value out of the screen image you are using in your sig.

I get a full scream warning from mine - using this site's Liz voice warning with loud siren all at 100% volume! Laughing

Thanks, David Embarassed As you will see, it has gone. Got a lot of tactful PMs about that and the fact that I was breaking forum rules about the size of the signature strip. I was just testing something out and had to leave before I could delete it.....her indoors wanted to go shopping Rolling Eyes

All appreciated.

Graham

The original poster asked if the icon could go full screen, if that is not possible is it possible to make the icons any larger than they currently are?

I don't mind sticking to the speed limit, my biggest gripe these days is trying to keep track of the limit I'm driving in, signage is all to often cr4p and getting worse. A warning of the camera and a more visible confirmation of the limit is something I would value, though maybe I'm in a minority of one !!!

The on map icons can be 24x24 pixels and some models will support the X2 icons which can be 48x48. See this page

If you are using navcore 8.3 or later, the alert icon has actually got smaller. It's now 32x32 on screen. On the icons page (see sig), there is a set that will show the speed limit as big as reasonably possible in this box. (PS 48x48 doesn't work on this version so has been dropped - it was never advertised as working in any case).

Personally, I'd go with the "scream" for the primary warning and use the icon as backup. If it was possible to have a bigger icon that would be good but I feel people would rather see the map on screen. Wink

Thanks for reply, appreciate your comments. What I was thinking of was the Snooper style alert which does just this, displays maps while navigating but gives full screen warning when a camera is in range. My ideal device would be a composite of features from several different devices currently available. Very Happy

Hi DennisN
I’m not sure if you meant it literally but I see that you wrote “I get a full scream warning from mine - using this site's Liz voice warning with loud siren”. I have had a fiddle (as one does) with my device but fail to see a way of having a voice and a warning sound both running as one approaches a camera. Is it possible?

Yes, I meant it literally, full "SCREAM" Twisted Evil - big siren and the warning "Warning, Gatso ahead, speed limit 30 miles an hour". I use the Liz Whittaker OGG files with loud siren and having my device volume on 100% really does the business for me. Of course, I don't often carry passengers!! Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
