might want to have a look at www.mailchimp.com pretty cheap and has some pretty natty features including an inbox inspector so you can see how your email looks in different programmes.
I've used if for the last year and think its pretty good - customer service is also exceptional when you need help. |

HI,
Well I definitely prefer the layout. The biggest benefit for me is the MUCH faster download of images in outlook. I had raised this previously as a problem, but was surprised no-one else seemed to have any issues. My outlook is configured to not load images unless I tell it to, and with the old newsletter it took at least 15-20 seconds to get them.
My only comment, like many others, is the grey is too light. Almost makes you think it is slightly out of focus!
Otherwise it's fine by me - please don't change it apart from the grey!
PS It's a shame I renewed my menbership on the 1st December - I could have saved £1.01!!!! |

Excellent, please don't change back.
A much easier read, and more importantly it loads up much, much faster in my Outlook 2007. Old email seemed to take forever to load up! |

MadHatter - THANK YOU! It wasn't just me after all! I had raised this with the team in another discussion and was beginning to think I was missing some vital point. (I also use Outlook 2007).

The content, layout and "User Friendliness" are all good, unfortunately, the grey text makes it hard work for me.

i0i, I also use Thunderbird and have never had a problem...possibly some of your settings need tweaking, but I wouldn't have a clue which ones! _________________ TT Go 720 (T)

Which indicates perfectly how difficult it is to cater for all tastes and settings! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have to say I much prefer the new style - it gives a more personal one-to-one feel. Almost like getting a personal letter with good handwriting!
I for one should be happy if the style stays.
Keep up the good work! |

My two cents. I don't like the grey either - But - and this goes for most of the site, why do you insist on fixing the width? I don't run my browser full screen and it is a pain having a horizontal scroll bar. Web pages ought to resize. _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |

It's fixed width because that is an agreed standard for sites, it fits in the 1024 pixel width space that is the minimum most sites cater for and in the larger resolutions now commonly used it still sits nicely.
If a fixed width is good enough for the likes of Microsoft, the BBC and many more then it's good enough for us. _________________ Darren Griffin

That was just an example, we don't even use Microsoft products here but there are good technical and practical reasons for maintaining a fixed width layout. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I prefer the new layout.
The grey is too pale for my taste. The headings look darker, maybe just because they are bold. If the main text appeared as dark as the current heading I would find it easier to read. _________________ Paul |

I like the New News Letter layout, just a tweak of the grey body text(darker) and it will be spot on.
Whats the empty dashed box at the top of the page for ???? Outlook 2003
keep up the good work.. always improving to keep us interested thats a positive, if the speed of the page(s) loading improves thats a bonus _________________ Alan --- aka Wiz.

Usually this is because people think HTML is a *publishing* language rather than the *mark up* language it actually is. Let the browser show it the way the user wants to. You ever tried to read an online novel in a browser full screen? The eye does not like lines that long, which is why newspapers have columns. I typically have my browser around A4 in width at least, which is comfortable for me. YMMV of course. _________________ Mio C710 on MioMap 3.3 |
