The question is aimed at x20 users, not x30 users. I am trying to get a clear picture as to how many people have experienced stuttering computer (TTS) voices and map refresh rate problems, especially with the 8.15 maps.

Thanks
Andy

Haven't really used it since upgrading, but seems OK so far.

However.

I don't use the TTS voices, the FM transmitter or Bluetooth sound.

I don't use a computer voice, so no problems at all.

I haven't had a problem with a 720 unit, firmware 8.3 and NA map 8.10. No stuttering ..... yet. Confused

Since the recent updates I have done two runs through London, one to Morden in surrey and one to Liverpool st station, both times it gave me no problems at all I use Kate for guidance and she does not have a stammer !,also both of these runs used the IQ routes.in addition I have done "local" runs again with no problems.
I am on APP 8.300 & map version 815.2003 on a 520

GO720 8.3 app / 7.20 map /6.9 voices

Worked fine for the first day, 5 hour round trip to Newark airport, started stuttering the next day, wound back the ap to 8.1 and resolved, Tomtom still telling me a new version is available even though they know it's FUBAR!
Had Tomtom since XDA days / windows mobile, probably won't bother with anything else of theirs, I hope they become a victim of the recession! Sick of dicking around to get things to work properly!

The voices were fine but screen refresh could be very slow!

I have had the new navcore since it was released with no probs. I have only had the latest map since yesterday and all seems ok. No stuttering y-y-y-yet.

However I was lookung at a cure yesterdao on http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=72221&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
and if the worse comes to the worse I will follow the advice posted there.

My 520 has suffered no obvious ill effects since upgrade. I don't use handsfree or MP3 but for the core function, navigation it has been fine.

map refrsh rate has been fine but have suffered from stuttering voice syndrome on tt 520... very annoying! tried a couple of other voices but it affected all the 'computer' (tts) voices.

With v8.300 and 8.15 maps I experienced stuttering voices and lower than expected screen refresh rates (compared to previous navcores).
Having run v8.203/4 and v7 voices for while now both these issues are sorted.

I find all this very interesting. Allowing for those that don't use the voices tehre are still a number of people who are experiencing no problems....although we believe there is a "cure" it still doesn't, clearly, explain the inconsistency.

Hi AndyVaughan
I have Tim giving instructions and Kate warning me that there are Speed Cameras coming up. I have no trouble regarding the voices.
However, the map refresh is so, so slow.
Is Tomtom aware of the problem?
