Downloading Western & Central Europe V8.15 map and it says that using my 10Mb/s broadband, it's going to take over 6 HOURS!!
Is this about right? Quicker to jump on a ferry at Harwich and pick it up from TomTom in Holland myself!!!!
Flamin' technology.......

And the obvious next question - if this download fails for some reason, or it gets to 3.00am in the morning and I get fed up, will TT say I have it and tough luck or allow me to download it again?
And my broadband is Virgin Media and they have a habit of restricting the download speed in the evenings in my area! Perhaps that's what it is.

You will be able to re-download the purchase in the event it fails, I would just leave it alone for a few hours and see what its upto before you go to bed - Mike

Hi Mike. Perhaps I ought to go out clubbing and have a look when I come back!
Some hope of that, free bus pass next year. Laughing

I have a 20Mb/s Virgin broadband connection in 'your' area with a teenager permanently online playing computer games and my download was definitely less than half an hour (as have previous downloads).

However, I did download my 815 Western Europe map on the day it became available.

Unless there's a difference in broadband service between PO12 and PO13 areas, I wouldn't point the finger at Virgin myself.

Perhaps it's the TT server because we know how flakey the MapShare service has been in recent times.

At the present rate, it will finish about 2 in the morning. Think I will terminate it and see if I reconnect it at a faster speed.
As long as it will let me redo it!

I notice you never said that you'd rather watch X Factor Laughing Laughing

...maybe you're being a little modest about your dedication Wink

It's usually down to TT's servers... I've had Europe map downloads finish in 45 minutes or 5 hours.

If you are running one of this week's Home updates then you should be able to stop the download if you wish and resume it from where you stopped later.

But I'd just go to bed (or go clubbing) and see if it has finished in the morning.
