Not sure I understand the question. While driving you simply tap the screen, and tap Navigate To...Point of Interest...Petrol Station (or BP, if you have personal POIs) and it will show them with the one nearest to you on the top of the list. Once you refilled, you say Navigate To...Recent Locations and reselect your original destination B.

Let me know if that is what you meant.

I think I understand the question.

When navigating from A to B you want to add a POI to the itinerary (except you didn't use the itinerary feature to plan the route).
I've tried this and find it VERY fiddly. It needs FAR too much concentration, clicking on some small icons and so I resorted to the method mentioned above - Shame really!.

Yes, it's a shame. They could have elegantly enhanced the "Navigate to..." paradigm with "Take me to", "then take me to", "Before that take me to" and have fed the A->B journey into the itinerary automatically. Alas, no.

Interestingly enough Routis (and the other Intellinav clones) does have this functionality. If you have an active route and specify another destination (like a gas station) then Routis asks you if you want to do a stopover or if you want to replace the original destination.

Hope this helps, yes I want to navigate to POI but only those that are ahead of me or on my planned route.

Normally when you use navigate to POI the closest POI maybe behind you, which would require you to back track.

Once you have planned a route if you then search a POI catagory for example BP petrol stations, as you scroll down the list on certain POI's you will see a small symbol in either red, green or orange next to the POI name. If you come across a POI with a red symol then this indicates that the POI in question is on your route, you are correct in that the first POI shown in the list is the closest but it could be in a different direction. This is quite a usefull feature which I have used on several occasions.

Hope this helps

Richard

Richard - have you worked out what the other colours of symbol mean? I haven't - hence the question.

Hi David,

I think there is an explanation of this function in the manual that is on the CD, I do not have this on me at the moment it is at home but I can check for you later.

Hi David,

I’ve had a look at the CD manual and here’s the meaning of the colours for the icons in the Itinerary.

Red downward pointing arrow – on the route.

Orange downward pointing arrow – almost on the route.

Green diagonally downward pointing arrow – near the route.

Regards,
