Just had a look at the dutch satmap site (follow flag on satmap site).

It seems that the Satmap price in Holland are much the same in Euros as in the uk in pounds. I.e. about two-thirds the price. Maps also seem much cheaper.

Having paid uk prices here, don't you just feel a little bit ripped off?

Cheapest I can see is €299 - current €1 = £0.85640 or about £256, I paid £270 and the £ is falling against the € and I don't know how much the Dutch VAT is compared to UK (and really cba to google)

I suspect that Ordnance-survey has a lot to do with map costs (bad) and quality (good) - so really can't blame Satmap (other map sources using OS seem comparable costs)

The hardware price for the Satmap isn't too bad considering what you get.

The software price is generally comparable with other vendors / systems, and the main thing that's stopped me getting one is the fact that I've a big investment already in Memory Map software/maps, which is usable on any Windows PPC and the Road Angel Navigator 7000 CE device.
