I planned to take an extended trip to the USA, and bought the TomTom Maps Collection USA and Canada on DVD. At the time, I had a One Europe (New Edition). In the end, I didn't go, and the maps have never been installed, or activated. I now have a 730T, and reading some posts it appears that older maps won't work on my 730. The case says the DVD is for the Go series, One, Rider, and Navigator 6. Will they work with my 730T. |

I'll stick my neck out and say I think all old maps on DVD will work on new software/devices.
Even for downloaded maps, they will be locked to one device, but I've never seen a report that an updated device fails to read a map that used to work on it, so it's not software dependant.
Can you dig out any of these posts that say they won't?
There's a chart on this site, but that only indicates maps that were actually reported to work, the lack of a "tick" didn't mean they didn't... |

The One Third Edition has a little problem with older maps once upgraded to the latest firmware, you get the red warning screen stating this map cannot be used with the device - even though it was the map supplied loaded to the device! - Mike |

Looks like that chart needs its first "cross" then!
I'd guess that's due to a bug rather than by design though? |

I managed to put a W/E 6.75 map on my 520. It also came on a DVD (It was £10 from Halfords) and had the card with the number on it.
But I should add that was before I upgraded to the latest firmware (8.00 etc) so not sure about now. |
