AMOD AGL3080 Photo Logger review

Personal GPS Data Loggers have mushroomed over the last few months. It feels like all GPS device manufacturers have at least one data logger in their product portfolio.

So far, however, all these data loggers emulated a serial port over USB, and required you to install a driver for that on their PCs (the ubiquitous CP2102 and CP2303 chip set drivers).

Thankfully we are now seeing the beginning of a new era. The GPS Data Loggers now start to behave like a standard USB memory stick. The data logging itself simply writes to a file on that memory stick, and when you connect your device to the desktop you can immediately work with that resulting file.
