I've just got a new 520 to replace my faulty one. I've set it up on a new account so no problems there.

It's got 7.15 maps on it, and the 7.20 are on the TomTom website (using the latest map guarantee) but I haven't downloaded them.

My question is, is there likely to be an upgrade to a newer map within the next 30 days? If so I'll hold off updating for now. I've done a search and there's lots of talk of updates and software being pulled etc.. so any definive news (or half decent rumours Very Happy ) would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rory

The summer sale has been extended and no end date has yet been announced (it was originally 31 July).

Navcore v8 for the x20 range has recently been withdrawn and v8 software is needed for v8 maps.

The map data in v720 is identical to v805, but v805 maps 'benefit' from Advanced Lane Guidance, Reality View and IQ Routes.

It might be worth you keeping an eye on things and decide at some point before the end of the 30 days of your LMG whether to update your maps.

Thanks for the reply - Unfortuantely, after setting up my new model I've found that it has a faulty touchscreen (somes misses keypresses or does double presses instead of single, nottt verrrry useful whn entrng adddrsssses Very Happy ) and also has the same fault as my first one, a very distorted sound when at a volume over 90% and the screen flickers badly when it's talking.

Oh well... What alternative model should I consider? Also I'm running out of email addresses to register them to!!!
