Apparently Garmin have come under fire from the 'Scottish Campaign against Irresponsible Drivers' for selling the Good Pub Guide for their sat navs!

So, does it condone drink driving any more than a speed camera database condones speeding?

DISCUSS!

Obviously never heard of a "deligated drvier".

Does the paper version of the GPG fit in a glove compartment?

You ca of course do other things in pubs than just drink alcohol. Some of the pubs in the uk offer some of the best weekend food available even before most restaurants are even open, and that of course is the point of the GPG.

Well, perhaps not one who can pass the sobriety spelling test! Laughing

Ah yes, sorry of couse i mean

"deligated diver"

Wink

I suspect this is just some way of SCID ( Rolling Eyes ) raising it's profile at anything that can vaguely make a link between drinking and driving. As mostdom pointed out you don't have to drink alcohol in a pub and some have very good resturants.

What next? Lock up any driver who has ever said the phrase "I know a good pub" and then given someone directions?

SCID?? - Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (Psychological Assessment for the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual). They've gotta long way to go to get me excited about it.

And here's me thinking you were misspelling a description of a lady driver - Derogated Diva. Rolling Eyes

If I was a member of SCID, I'd object to the inclusion of licensed restaurants, off licences and supermarkets, as well as pubs, to mention just a few more evil dens of alcoholic iniquity.

Everyone knows that PGPSW members (not to mention members of CAMRA, which champions responsible drinking, incidentally, so it must be possible) and satnav owners generally just can't go into such premises without falling out 3 sheets to the wind 4 hours later, to stagger off in their vehicles.

God help us if they ever provide satnavs to all those under-age drunks that make our streets and towns such nice places to be!

Nor have I. Delegated or designated, but not deligated! Anyway, the next thing will be to suggest that vehicle manufacturers condone speeding by making cars which exceed the speed limit (Germans, be quiet. Cool )
