You will be Ok doing this as the application can be downloaded and installed to the PDA phone using TomTom Home on your PC, but if the device code is changed due to the hard reset your map will not work without re-activation. To do this will require the product code which it sounds like you don't have. A new UK map will currently cost you just under 30 quid - Mike |

tom tom website says that you can view your product code using tom tom home or through the tom tom itself but mine not there why would that be? as i not going to pay 30 quid for new uk map, my tom tom is uk and westen europe, but if i had to id buy copilot live 6 from ebay for about ten quid |

You won't be purchasing navigation software for around a tenner, this will be illegal software which e-Bay is famous for. The TomTom web site will save codes against your login, in this case the software is either illegal or the person you purchased the devce from will have it registered under their own ID. A stored number is a product of the device ID and the product coe (which should be on a platic card the same size as a credit card, without this you will not be able to activate it. It might just work following the hard reset, then again it might not - Mike |
