Hi

I own a TomTom One v3 and have ver 8.010 of the firmware currently installed. I would like to go back a version (which I think is Version 7.522) in order to get a fix working for the missing itinery planning functinon, i.e. the fix won't work with ver 8.010.

Does anybody know how I can get hold of this version and also how to install it?

Don't believe that is the version number but go here to get an earlier version for your unit: http://www.oldboy.me.uk/TomTomUpdates/index.html

The version this device was released with was 7,101 (8427/070705) OS:2711

I am not too sure the device will boot with the old software version installed, mine didn't last time I tried - will have another go to make sure though - and that version isn't listed on Richards web site, it was specific to the One Third Edition - Mike

I have just formatted my One Third Edition and re-installed the day 01 back up to restore 7,101 complete with v705 UK & ROI map and it refuses to boot up, so it looks like once the v8 software is installed there is no way back which is rather alarming! - Mike

Tried that one, it didn't work, will have to format it and re-install what was on it earlier today - looks like rolling back to previous software/ maps is a no go on this unit - Mike

Above and beyond the call of duty, but thanks very much. I think I might try TomTom support for a bit, see if I can grind them down for a solution.

Best of "British" then, I doubt they will even acknowledge the fault but I might be wrong!
Go and find a brick wall to hit your head against as it is probably an easier option - Mike

So what can have changed "permanently"? Is this the work of the dreaded Bootloader?
Would the ClearFlash tool help?

I have only ever used that from an SD card, as this contraption doesn't have a slot for one I am a little unsure whether to try it or not, I doubt it would damage the device but I do suspect this is boot loader related - Mike

OK, I persisted with the TT support and got a resolution!

I've actually tried this and it works!

I WOULD ADVISE YOU PERFORM A FULL TT BACKUP BEFORE PERFORMING THIS.

To roll back to the previous version of Navcore FROM 8.010 you will need version 7.166 which can be obtained from here:

http://download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/navcore_7.166.8497.onev6.cab

1. Download this file and upzip it somewhere on your hard drive.
2. Make a note of all the files and directories you've just unzipped.
3. Plug TT into your PC and let it connect
4. Locate your TT in explorer and backup all the files and directories you made a note of somewhere on your PC (just in case ;-) )
5. Now copy all the files and directories you've just unzipped onto the root drive of your TT. Say Yes to All when it asks you if it should replace.
6. Safely remove the TT device in Windows

It will now reboot OK, although you'll have lost all your favorites and you'll have to set up preferences again.

You can now install the custom menu with itinerary planning enabled and it will work!!!
