@efjay: iGuidance 4 is another example that it can be done. The TTS engine is very decent. Also, Mobium are of note - they use some dirty tricks to produce very high quality pseudo TTS. So you do have plenty choices.

Bit hypocritical isn't it with the lengths PGPSW go to to protect their speed camera data base when lbendlin is listed as Pocket GPS Staff, or have I got the wrong end of the stick gain? Apologies if I have. But I would have thought companies would provide software for review to prominent as sites such as PGPSW in order to raise awareness of their products.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in the review... does this version have the ability to optimise lots of stops on a route? That is put in a start postcode, many intermediate stops, a finish point and then optimise the route fastest/shortest like I understand the previous version did, and you can do on the pc with MS Autoroute.

I've always been a fan of tomtom with Igo as a credible 2nd.
I tried igo 8 recently and the experience in our scandy operation is that it is much more intuitive than tomtom, I like the way it moves the more freuenly used icons to the top on some screens, which at first I found disconcerting. The abilty to customise the display something only previously found with tomtom I think is a killer function, also I like the ability to load seamless bitmap satmaps. I hope these features are in the retail domestic version.

One other thing I forgot to mention - be careful if you already have a directory called "Backup" on your storage card.

If you use iGO 8's Backup option it TRASHES everything you have in this directory!

If you have a route planned and then find another destination you have the option of adding it as a via point. Once you have two or more via points you are shown a list of the points on your route that you can edit the order manually or, by clicking the smiley face icon, optimise the route. Each time a new via point is added, or the route is reordered, the route will automatically be recalculated.

yes, you can :D

Only asked this question because people kept referring to Demo Version.

I realise now that the software that is legit (beta version) being tested by other people is the only software that is available.

You can buy the software from France, I believe.

Igo sales have confirmed it is on sale (just not in the UK)

Im using igo on my pda and it works great, also uses TTS. I was a tomtom fan but as there not supporting the pda's anymore i have had to look for the next best.

Igo is a learning curve after tomtom but now i have used it a bit i much prefer it. I wonder how much tomtom are going to loose out by not supporting us anymore?
