Has anyone bought the Route 66 Navigate 7 software for the PPC? I bought mine 2 weeks ago, and an error appears after the software is installed onto the PPC.

It installs ok, but when the program tries to run I get this error: One or more required files cannot be found. Please reinstall the application.

I use a Mitac Mio 168 and it can be used with this software. After numerous emails to Route 66, I keep on getting exactly the same pre-written email back, saying that they will look into the matter.

After nearly 2 weeks of waiting for a response, Im getting a little annoyed to say the least. I know other people have had the same problem with the CD, but others seem to get the program to work when they have it sent to them pre-installed on an SD card.

There is a patch on the Route 66 website, but this does not address the issue of it not working, as in, at all.

Has anyone else had this experience? Or even know if a patch is going to make an appearance?

Hi Steve
I use the same programme on a PPC. Just check how you have the programme installed. I have the programme installed on the PPC but the data (maps etc) are on an SD card - I get the same error message if the card can't be read for any reason.

In summary the programme is not finding the data files. Are these on the device? Are they on your card? Is the device able to read your card?

Let me know.

Best wishes,

Joe.

Perhaps if you list the file/ folder contents of what is on your memory card post installation we can work out what is missing, I appreciate the problem though as the disk I had last year did exactly the same thing - Mike
