Yes it looks like that's what I'm seeing, I haven't found anywhere with an actual date as described above (yet!).

I suspect I must be reading this all wrong then, as I find many examples of the new mapping dates data.

For example Darren - move your cursor over to Haltwhistle in Northumberland, roughly 54.97 by -2.46 BUT at an altitude of around 22,000 feet, as it LOOKS like the date data is height sensitive.

Over Haltwhistle you will see the bottom status bar in Google Earth display a general "2002" date.

However, pan slightly left, where you can already clearly see the shadowing of the photos change darker, and you will see it display "April 27, 2006" as the date data.

There are many other examples, but this is just one.

I have found that at 13 miles or higher, the date does not show, but once you get dow to around 10 miles or closer to earth, the date shows too.

EDIT: Forgive me if I'm miss-reading all this, and this is already what you are saying too - it loses meaning by virtue of it having spilled over to the start of a new page.

But if this is what you are saying - that you CAN find where it shows you the date, but NOT find any examples newer than 2006, then I too concur.

Just purchased the W&CE v720 map for my 920T.
Connected to my PC and moved the old W&CE map to a BU.
Dowloaded and installed the new v720 map then copied the PGPS cameras and my other POIs onto the new map.
.
When I re-booted everything's fine except my Favourites have gone.
So - question - what are the Favourites stored under?

The file you need is MapSettings.cfg. Hopefully, you have a backup that you can try copying over the exisiting file in our 720 map folder.

For those trying to use the "Latest Map Guarantee" to obtain the maps I have been advised by TomTom support this morning that the service is down at present and have been told to try again in a few days time.

Quote:
We are advised by PLUS services team that the LMG ( latest map guarantee ) service is currently down .

They are currently unable to assign maps.

Please try again in a few days time

Not a problem for me as my 720 is only 2 weeks old so I still have several weeks to update. Not much use if your 30 days is about to expire.

Suggest anyone else with problems contacts Tomtom before their update period expires in case the service isn't fixed quickly.

dhn,
Yes I had moved my original map to the PC before installing the new one so copying back mapsettings.cfg onto the new map did the trick.
All working beautifully once more.
Many thanks.

Maybe, to TomTom, 'future proof' means 'protected FROM working properly in the future'. Evil or Very Mad

Could someone tell me if the A30 bypass is on the new map, i am looking at the roundabout near Lanivet in cornwall A30 and A391. The old maps show one large roundabout, what i am looking for is now a twin roundabout. So all you Cornish lovers NO Iron Bridge holdups anymore. A big thank you to anyone who can help.

Hi fullrotation,
You're in luck!
Now shows two roundabouts one either side of the A30.
Sorry no screen shot as I'm still looking for the post that told you how to do it!

This always seems to happen when new maps are released, and usually needs an email to TomTom. See jac40's post on page 3 of this thread and Tom59's on this page.

TT will probably require proof of date of purchase.

I can confirm that TomTom have now asked me to e.mail or fax proof of purchase and device serial number. Then they are going to ask if I can have an upgrade?? All seems a bit Double Dutch to me! Laughing
