Using Builders vans or any other come to that, doesn't surprise me, especially in Derbyshire where on average there a 3 times more speed cameras than in any other semi-rural area. It wouldn't surprise me that there as many CASH CAMERAS as there are in London.

I appears that this government has it in for motorists where ever they move, if you go your cars optimal speed for lower emissions and greater fuel economy then you get a speeding fine, if you go slower then you get hit at the petrol pumps.

It stinks of the days when Robin Hood was around =, only the Sheriff of Nottingham now rules the whole Country Crying or Very sad

Well, well, so DVLA still has the van registered as white!! Now if I remember correctly, changing the colour/description of a vehicle is supposed to be notifiable to them by law.

I do hope our wonderful Derbyshire police are not forgetting their legal responsibilities in their enthusiasm to fleece us (er sorry, protect our safety)?

Personally I think the whole thing is an April Fools created in Photoshop. If it worked fine with one window in the back as a speed camera van then why add another? Does the quoted Sgt Andy Carmichael actually exist? If the actual vehicle is STILL a police camera van that would explain why it was still listed as while with DVLA.

That said if anybody was going to do it Derby would, I have never seen so many cameras anywhere, and every other one has a different speed setting. One has to spend more time watching the speedometer than the road ahead....

Talk about dangerous!

It's real, confirmed and they admit it is theirs. I've spoken with them to confirm the story.

Well I guess you should know! Yet another reason for me to spend over half the year in a more civilised country (as I do now). If it wasn't for the National Health (which I've paid for) I'd go for good.

What is this country coming to?

But the Safety Camera Team website still says: "The vehicles all bear the 'Safety Camera Team' livery, which identifies to road users that cameras are in operation." Confused

If van is registered with DVLA as white, surely they are breaking the law if it has changes colour without telling DVLA

If they haven't notified DVLA then yes but I'll bet they have, especially now everyone's remarked on it and it is just the DVLA's public database that is not yet reflecting the changes.
