Several times my c510 has frozen on the Nottingham ring road near to the Queens Med Hospital. The map goes clear although voice seems to continue. Switching off/on the unit will reset. Is it caused by the underpass and the unit losing sight of the satellites? Or is it a software fault?

You will find this occurrs at Luton j10 ish as well. Its the radar/ILS system the system, according to Garmin

Out of interest I tried my Nokia N95 along the same road using the built in GPS and Garmin SatNav on a SD card. It did not suffer the same problem as the C510.
