It works exactly as it says on the tin and is completely fair in my opinion.

I watched as a camera was finalising instalation outside my office and promptly reported it.

As an existing subscriber my subscription was updated and is now showing an expiry date well over a year and I look forward to seeing the new camera on the next database release.

= no it's not a scam.

ps: Can I have my status changed to Lifetime Member please ? Very Happy

You bunch of asterisks!!

I "waste my time" just about every day - another three cameras today. I got my free lifetime membership two years ago and STILL I "waste my time" every day. Most of my "wasting of my time" is spent verifying cameras these days. And whilst doing it, I generally "waste my own money" too. Why? So that people like you can have the benefit of the cameras I report, so that I can have the benefit of cameras other Members report. Are they any benefit to you? And don't tell me you pay for them - you don't pay me a brass washer, you don't pay any other Members, Verifiers or Moderators a brass washer. Evil or Very Mad

Last week, I wasted 20 miles of time and fuel to "verify" a mobile camera site in this farm entrance.

By all means, don't waste your time. But don't waste ours reading your grumbles either. And you'll still be welcome to use the database for as long as you are a subscribed member!

Totally agree. It's this type of 'unseen' work that makes the pgpsw database so valuable. Every credit.

I too am a life member( although it says that I am a beginner) and i can confirm that it is not a scam Just keep looking and reporting and I am sure you will get there in the end. And as dennis says the people that go out to check these do so without any financial help and on their own time they are the ones that we all should be thanking (by the way Dennis is that Builth Wells in the picture?)

Yes it is - was it your camera? If so, you did the coordinates way off from the comments, which said on the road from Builth to Llandrindod - my geographical knowledge is why I have satnav, so if you know the place, you can tell I was heading the wrong way at the time Embarassed - but I couldn't have gone looking for it, because I didn't know where Llandrindod Wells is!! Rolling Eyes (I do now).

Just goes to show the differing motives people have for submitting cameras. The OP is obviously doing it just to get a lifetime subscription. Personally I have always submitted cameras that do not show up on my SatNav. Have I received a lifetime subscription? No. Will it stop me submitting in future? No.

The reason I do it is so that the database can be kept as up to date and accurate as possible. Without that accuracy, it's as useful to all of us as a chocolate fireguard. The fact that it might be possible to earn a lifetime subscription is just an added bonus.

p.s. I have a trip to Italy coming up later in the year, so I'm hoping to expand the European database, which has been a really useful addition in recent times as far as I am concerned. Keep up the good work guys.
