Navman 4100/4410 charging lead from Powered Mount

I've visited my local Maplin Electronics and made myself a lead that will power my Navman 4100 hardware from my Arkon Powered Mount.

I just wondered whether if I buy some AAA rechargeable NiMH batteries, will the navman also charge them?

Mind if I ask you what you used to make the lead up. I would also like to power my 4410 from an Arkon mount.
