Hi

I am looking to save my TT 710 data to a larger SD as the original one is nearly full. I have read FAQ on how to set up a new card on this website.

What make of card would folk recommend? I obviously want a card which will operate quickly enough. I have been looking at Sandisk Ultra or Extreme III or are those over the top. What size would you recommend?. Would a 4GB be okay or is that unnecessarily large. I already have Western Europe maps and I may well upgrade to the latest version and add Eastern Europe maps in the near future.

Thanks in anticipation.

Tim

One of the most oft' asked questions....

Go for a good brand, Kingston and Sandisk are both well respected. Any 'known brand' card will probably be fast enough nowadays, "Ultra" wasn't considered worthwhile.

BUT... 2GB is the maximum you can use in a 710 UNLESS you can find a 4GB card that DOESN'T use "SDHC" technology (most DO).
Trancend and Topram are two brands that make one.

THANKS A LOT Andy

I bought a Sandisk Extreme III 2gb SD card and following the FAQ thread I have successfully copied my original (1GB) SD card onto the new card. It all seems to work fine and now I have nearly as much free space as used, ie, over 1GB.

Thanks again Andy and Pocket GPS World.
