Interesting, thanks. So the cameras are pretty large boxes.

The boxes I've photo'd on the gantries are a lot smaller, I'd say the equivalent of a shoebox, or smaller even. I will try and get a better shot though...

cameras on motorways don't need to be bright yellow as it is a special type of road.

I guess loads of people are reading this as some silly sod nearly done an emergency stop when going under a gantry. Now I've got flat spots on all my tyres Crying or Very sad

Yes I would like to know where you get that from, I dont recall there being any different treatment of revenue earning Oops Embarassed accident blackspots as far as the Highways Agency, Department of transport etc are concerned. But hey I have been wrong before could be again!

I stand by my original observation that there are no cameras, yet, between junctions 12 and 15, and I have had plenty of time to examine each gantry as I crawl past.

The M25 cameras behind the light grey solid backing are the old style that were replaced during 2004/5 when the section was widened.

There are cameras of that style between junctions 11 and 12 as that section wasn't widened. However, I think they are just 'no film installed' flashers.

I had a good look this morning on my way to work, the two cameras that have been between J16 and J15 for ever have gone.

I was heading south and studied pretty much every gantry to J14 and couldn't see any cameras (I was trying to see where they had moved them to). I'll try to check as I head home again, but it will be getting dark by then :\

For those monitoring this thread, another thread has popped up about cameras having appeared on this stretch. http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=66693&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=m25&start=0

I would have missed it, but updated my database and spotted some new cameras on the J12 - J14 stretch.
