GPS speed accuracy Vs speedometer?

..back to the 1M lenght of string....
Would wool or cotton be ok????
Does it have to be string, or will it affect the end readings?

Make sure it isn't raining when you do this though as cotton and wool are known to shrink in the wash - Mike

Tyre wear would have an effect though speed displayed should still be within permitted limits.

Temperature not a factor as tyres will reach operating temp once your moving.

Weren't we talking about chocolate sponge?

If the GPS is inside the car and the car was doing 50mph then the GPS must be doing 50mph. otherwise it wouldn't be there.

Then the curvature of the Earth would mean it had to go faster to keep up with the wheels/string/tank track/sponges.

True Andy, but with my thesis, you can be assured that the fundamental relatives are sound, if they were not then the GPS is not the only thing that would not be there.Two things that spring to mind are the steering wheel and the driver.

Ian if the diameter of the rolling cheese stays constant at speed and of course the cheese doesn't go flat, do you think i will be able to use it in the rolling cheese hill run. We do these strange things down south.

Is it not true GO-GO-910 that you have to disclose the cheese the night before the run to make sure it is within the tolerence levels and has been refrigerated for a time no more that 5 hours because if the cheese is too hard at the rolling circumference which is 2/3rds of the diameter minus the weight on the sky hook and not all the tread of the cheese is touching the road you are automatically disqualified because this will get you to the 88 mph faster than allowed for the 1.21 jigowatts of electricity needed for the flux capasiter to iniceate and send me back to the planet i came from because i dont have a clue what i am going on about. Confused
