Thanks for the posting. I cant download the zip file, because I'm at work, but does it come with installation instructions, or do you have seperate instructions?

By amazing co-incidence (?) today the author of Suntime has announced the release of a new version 1.7 that cures the screen scrambling issue.

Read all about it!

Hi daggers I have a GO700 with 7.161 and the helpme icon appears on main menu page 1

Thanks for this Bryce, but it still leaves me with a few questions ...
I've clearly had one icon moved to the first page from somewhere else -which one?
How many pages of Main menu do other people have - 3 or 4?
Am I short of a few more icons, or have I simply had the Help Me replaced with another one, other than Suntime & Quickam?
I suppose in short, I am asking what the default menu structure is on a Go300 when the additional applications aren't present.

Nice try, but no - it only shows me the original manual, not the updated one for v7 software.

No, Suntime etc use a custom menu file, and using one of those messes up the new menu items in v7 (Help me and Map Corrections). This is all down to TomTom stopping support for their own SDK (software developers' kit) that people had paid a lot of money for.

I'm not sure this is strictly true.

As far as I know, any add-on programs will be listed on a new last menu page UNLESS they also use a custom menu file to put them somewhere else (eg POI Capture).
Having a custom menu will obviously mess up any new menu items that TomTom add, but just having ANYTHING in the sdk folder MIGHT mess up these new menu items, and as they no longer chack compatibility with sdk-based programs, there are no hard and fast rules.

There's no such animal...
There are several varieties of TomTom ONE and there's a TomTom Go500, which I assume you have.
It should work on that, especially if you are still running v6 software.
Without having the install instructions to hand, I would guess that if you don't already have a "content" folder, you just make one, using File/New Folder in Windows.

I'm guessing, as I have never used Suntime or Daylight. Which one are you trying to install? I looked at the website for Suntime and the install instructions don't seem to mention a content folder. Any chance of a link to what you are looking at?

But a good rule of thumb is to NEVER use Home except when absolutely necessary (ie when downloading content from TomTom themselves).
For everything else (backups, speed cameras, POIs, third party apps) they have all been designed to be installed manually.
If it asks you to make a new folder, it will be on the TomTom itself and you add it using Windows Explorer, nothing to do with Home.

If you're using HOME 2.1.2.121 then in Folder Preferences you will find the Downloads Folder.

The downloaded Suntime Zip File is unzipped and the 2 files are placed in this Folder.

In HOME Click on Add Maps, page forward to Items on my Computer, and then open the Applications tab.

Finally Click Add to Install.

The same applies to Daylight.

Is there anyway to hide the icon? Once set I do not see why I would want to get at the options.
