Afraid I haven't had any brainwaves yet. It's not a problem I've heard of before.
How about re-installing latest software?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only way to do this in Home is to REMOVE one of the vital system files (eg "system") and then let Home re-install it.
OBVIOUSLY DON'T JUST DELETE IT, MOVE IT SOMEWHERE SAFE.

Or alternatively, go back to v6 using one of the archived versions HERE
and THEN let Home update you again.

Copy the whole drive on the TomTom to your PC then format the hard drive on TomTom.

Connect to Home and it will download version 6.525 first before updating to version 7 if you wish to.

Then copy the Text to Speech files, your maps and postcode files back to your TomTom plus any other files you may have addded.

You only need to remove the Files in the Root (leave all the Folders intact) to re-install the system.

Have a look Here.

Ignore the parts that are not relevant.

Sorry I am a pain here, the voice guidance is back again, for my last 3 journeys. There is no logic to it... although... maybe there is.
I have been using UK Kate as my voice, and I did ignore her last couple of left turns, I get a similar silent treatment from the missus for ignoring her,

seriously tho, I cannot understand it.

I have read your advice and I may be going back to a previous, 6, version. Thanks oldoy for your archives.
