I have just had my PDA repaired, and had to re-install TTN5 back onto it, the camera database is in the folder Great Britain map on the SD card but they are not showing up on the Manage POI's so I can not tick them to make them active.

and my poiedit manager says the pocketgps is offine.

If the camera files are in the correct folder why won't they appear in manage POI's, ?

Was ok before it went off for repair. any advise would be greatly appreciated...

Hi TheChef,

The POI Edit method had been stopped, to avoid confusion. Another way is now used to allow you to download the files.

You need to use this page instead.

Regards,

Hi PocketGPSworld,
Along with probably quite a few other users, my PoiEdit sync recently stopped working, and after reading the forum, I've taken out my £19 subscription, and done a manual sync.

All looks fine, but I really miss the automatic sync that I had with PoiEdit. I am happy to pay my subscription, but I would like an automatic update method.

Are there any plans in the pipeline? surely it's not impossible for some client SW (like PoiEdit or something else) to provide credentials when downloading, that you are prepared to accept and validate?

You will need to Subscribe first and then Click the Speed Camera Link at the Top Left of every Page.

The Cameras for any European Country is combined into the EUR Download.

Guys, got bored by the time I reached page 10 of this post so if this tip has been posted already I apologise:

I've run out of POIs (only 40 for TT5) on my Ipaq 2210. The solution to this for me was:

Use Speed zoned Gatso files (and set appropriate voice warnings)
Use Consolidated by Type files for everything else (due to the number of custom POIs I have this was best for me)

However you may also be able to fit the Speed zoned Mobiles if you have more room than me (which would be useful)

Simply delete the old speed zoned files which will not display as they won't fit (leaving the ones that will fit) and copy the Consol. by type ones across to the same folder. Then set the warnings as described in the other threads...

Eg:

[SZ] = Using files from Speed zoned db
[CL] = Using single files from Consolidated db

Say I have 27 Custom POIs (a lot I know)
I choose to use:

8 Gasos [SZ]
2 Mobiles [CL]
1 Redlight [CL]
1 Specs [CL]
1 Temporary [CL]

=13 POIs
27+13=40 (I have used my limit)

If I deleted some Custom POIs I didn't need, I might be able to fit some/all the Speed zoned Mobiles on there too (15 including 'P-Mobile' files)

I'm not an expert but I hope this helps.

I've just updated the TTN5.21 on my Dell Axim x51V (Mobile Windoz 5) to TTN 6.010...

Having just downloaded the UK speed camera DB (I now have only two "map" folders, Western&Central Europe, and EasternEurope...I copied the ov2&bmp files into Western&Central), I have a choice:

1) Enable the Various UK camera POIs (This works OK)

2) Connect my GlobalSat BT-338 GPs to the PDA (This works fine)

If I try to do both 1) & 2), the PDA just hangs/does nothing.

Anyone know why?

Go to Change Preferences/ Enable_Disable POI and de-select the whole lot, use the warn when near POI funcion to get warnings - this might sort the issue out - Mike

OK,Tried that....

Turned on the BT-GPS.....a few seconds later it connected to the PDA....then everything froze again. Sad

EDIT
I noticed when de-selecting the "Warn when near", that some of the .bmps were red squares, and NOT the camera/speed icon I was expecting...a sign of a currupt download??

The red square is an indication that a matching bmp file can't be found.

Either the name is wrong, it has to be an exact match to the ov2, or it doesn't exist in the Map Folder.
