Hello

I've just bought my first Sat-Nav a Navman S70, part of the attraction was that it should also act as a bluetooth hands free. Up to now I have used an old but reliable Motorola hands free.

The S70 seems to to the Navigating and route finding much as I expected of it. I am impressed with the 3 D maps. The manual is extremely disappointing.

However whilst I can pair my mobile phone, the information seems to be lost every time the unit is switched on and off. This makes it almost useless. My phone is a Sony Ericsson k750i. Anyone else with this problem.

The Navman S70 wants access to the internet through the phone. As I pay through the nose for data on my mobile, does anyone know what the Navman uses the internet for and how much data passes over the mobile A kB here or there won't break the bank but Megabites would hurt.

Is it possible to set the S70 to start automatically when the power is on

Any help or words of encouragement would be gratefully received

Nick

Don't turn it off, just put it in suspend mode. Long press on power button turns unit off -- you don't wont to do that unless you plan to not use it for a long time. Short press on power button will just put it in suspend mode -- unit won't have to reload maps when you turn it on and phone pairing should survive.

It will try to check whether data connection is possible but it shouldn't actually send any data over the link. Just opening up connection shouldn't cost anything with GPRS or CDMA (unlike old HSCSD).

Again, don't turn it off -- put it in suspend mode instead. When in suspend mode it will automatically turn on when external power is detected.

Thanks Very Happy

I'll try all of these, makes sense, the manual is less than clear.

I'm also going to buy an sd card and see if that helps.

Regards

For the avoidance of doubt since the software update it has worked as anticipated. Wink
